Bio

Arlene VanDoorn is a registered nurse, advanced foot nurse and foot nurse educator. She has been the proud owner and operator of Arlene’s Healthy Heels & More Inc. since 2010. Her business all began when her marriage dissolved, and she was searching for extra income while trying to do shift work and raise her two beautiful children. Her hobby transformed into a career which pushed her to take an early retirement from hospital nursing. She realized the importance of happiness and family unity.

Her past employment includes working at Hotel Dieu Hospital (Windsor Regional Ouellette Campus) for thirty-six years as a staff nurse on gerontology, med surg ortho, emergency room and outpatient day surgery. She became passionate about foot care in 2003 and received Basic and Advanced foot certificates from St Clair college. After receiving her foot certificate, Arlene started her home-based business from 2003-2009. Each month, new clients would arise which encouraged Arlene to seek out bricks and mortar in 2010.

In 2013 received her Foot Educator certificate Foot Care Kingston which is now known as Foot Canada Training. Arlene is also the founder of IFCN (International Foot Care for Nurses) and creator of Annual Foot Care Conferences in Windsor ON since 2013.She is a good standing member of CNO, RNAO and CAFCN. Health teaching and foot care is her passion, and she hopes to share her knowledge with other professionals and clients.

Arlene’s mission statement is to empower individuals to advocate for themselves in all aspects of their health, including their feet, which is their foundation.

Nasty, problematic issues in tissues are always a challenge, but also very rewarding!
